Chengdu: China Living Water Gardens
In July of 1995 Jill Jacoby and Xia Ji joined Betsy Damon and an international group of artists and scientists in Chengdu China. The goal of this gathering was to create the same types of art and science collaborations that were so successful in Duluth, Minnesota. Betsy Damon stayed in Chengdu for three years and designed and built the Chengdu Living Water Garden. This is a 6-acre park that treats polluted river water through a series of ponds, wetland plants and sculptures.
